The Kayaly Home Story
The Rogers Home for Sober Living was founded over ten years ago with a mission to offer an opportunity for individuals to make a change and start a new, better, and sober life. Founded by Milton Rogers, Rogers Home has offered life-saving sober living and recovery coaching services to men throughout Rhode Island for over a decade. We became acquainted with the Rogers Home leadership in late 2020, discussing sober living and how sober house operators can make a greater impact in our guests lives through the work we do. At the time, Rogers Home operated a men's sober living program in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and was working on opening a second location in Wakefield, Rhode Island.
It was obvious early in our conversations that the Rogers Home leadership had passion and dedication for their work, and years of experience serving their communities and supporting their guests. We discussed their current business model, administrative and finance structures, and growth goals. Despite their success thus far, they saw a need to improve their administrative, financial, and organizational structure. At the time, guests and family were unable to pay online, leading to payment struggles and loss of revenue. Their digital marketing was lacking in many areas, limiting their exposure to potential guests and causing vacancy issues. Without a formal accounting system, tracking payments and bills was time-consuming and prone to errors.
Beginning in January 2021, we began working to develop a sense of their needs and goals, and proposed a comprehensive plan to tackle their growth goals and improve their current operations. We worked with their organization to formalize legal entity structures, onboard them on our simple cloud-based sober house accounting system, applicant and guest management software, electronic payment services, marketing and referral tracking, brand image, and a strategy for growth.
Under a new brand image, Kayaly Recovery became a Vanderburgh House Chartered Organization on March 1, 2021. Fast-forward three months, we’ve helped Kayaly Recovery open two women's homes in Warwick, Rhode Island, as well as provide funding for a new state-of-the-art facility south of Providence, Rhode Island. We look forward to continued growth and many years of success for our collaboration.
